Aprovecho is currently in the winter off-season and not accepting volunteer applications. Please check back in February!
We are looking for self-motivated and eager people to share in the spring tasks of garden bed preparation, seed starting, greenhouse renewal and preparation, vermiculture set-up and management, biomass accumulation, livestock management, and more! These positions begin March 1st and will be individually arranged based on the needs of each applicant and Aprovecho.
Aprovecho seeks to maintain a productive garden in which fruits, vegetables, flowers, and culinary herbs are grown in a way that is ecologically responsible, maximizing of yields, and serving as a public demonstration to provide learning and training opportunities. In our garden we practice no-till agriculture, permaculture principles, vermiculture, aquaculture, and creative garden management with emphasis on resiliency.
We also accept work trade positions throughout the late spring, summer, and fall. On your application, please note the specific dates you desire to work at Aprovecho.
We are excited to share in these months of work, fun, and learning and look forward to hearing from you soon!
Dates: starting March 1st and lasting throughout Spring
Expectations: 30 hours of work-trade a week in exchange for a primitive camping site, local and organic food with prepared lunches and shared breakfast and dinner duty with students, and shower/lounge in our strawbale commons. It can be damp and cool during these spring months so we ask that you bring your own camping gear and that you are prepared to sleep and work in these conditions.
We’ll be in touch soon.
