Frequently Asked Questions

How many other people will be in the program with me?
  - It varies, but on average we have between 8 and 14 participants per session

How does the sliding scale tuition work?
   - The tuition for our programs is on a sliding scale. We leave it up to you to decide what you can afford. A sliding scale is offered in order to make the programs accessible to a diverse range of individuals. We encourage you to pay according to your means. Aprovecho offers quality programs for a minimal cost and relies on some individuals paying at the high end of the scale.

What are the sleeping / housing arrangements like?
-Our strawbale insulated dormitory (see pictures) can house up to 10 people. Rooms are shared; with 2 people to a room. Camping is also available on-site. A space in the strawbale is reserved with your deposit. After the tenth deposit is in, camping is the only option. However, sometimes people choose to swap rooms and campsites once they have arrived.

Can I get college credit for Aprovecho's programs? If so, how?
  - Aprovecho is not an accredited institution. However, there have been many participants in the past who have arranged to receive credit through their academic advisors for their coursework at Aprovecho. See the "How to get college credit" page
