K-12 Investigating and Discovering Sustainability (KIDS)
Aprovecho is excited to offer programing for youth through our KIDS program. The primary components of our KIDS programs are:
K-12 Field Trips
We can accommodate groups of up to 50 youth in a half-day, full day, and multi-day overnight sessions. organized into four units: Sustainable Foundations , Human Habitat, Ecosystems, & Food. Activities are designed to be place-based, interdisciplinary and hands-on. This allows for children to be engaged in a hands on learning experience that is above and beyond a typical field trip. KIDS Curriculum
Students participating in the KIDS program will have the opportunity to investigate real world problems and look for real world solutions to resource conservation and sustainability. As students examine these topics they will began to understand what actions they can take to promote a healthier planet. Continue reading
Inquiry Based Projects
Aprovecho brings inquiry based sustainability education into school classrooms to engage kids in exploring creative solutions to real-world problems. Students collaborate with their teachers, Aprovecho staff, private sector professionals, and local and regional governments to research, design, and implement projects within their community.
